Bala Town and The New Saints begin their respective Europa League campaigns in the Europa League first qualifying round this evening.
Bala Town arrived in Malta yesterday ahead of their tie against Valletta (7.00). The New Saints will host a youthful MSK Zilina side with the Slovakians travelling to Park Hall (6.30).
Welsh clubs are looking to record their first win in this season’s qualifying, with Connah’s Quay and Barry Town both suffering defeats last week.
Victories tonight would boost Wales’ ailing UEFA coefficient which is at risk of losing it’s fourth European spot.
Live coverage of both games will be available online. A stream of Bala’s game can be viewed here from half hour before kick-off, whilst The New Saints game will be available via their official YouTube and Facebook pages.
Barry Town could hand a debut to veteran centre back Antony Kay following his recent signing.
Saints boss Scott Ruscoe says he hopes his side can take advantage of a youthful looking Zilina side, who’ve produced mixed results in the opening rounds of their domestic league.
“[Their league form] suggests a little bit of inexperience in their side. Their littered with 19, 20, 21 year-olds, their striker is a 28 year-old but the rest of them are young boys. For the majority of them, it will be their first European game.”
